At Jim's Paving we love the outdoors and our paving and landscaping work takes us outside with Mother Nature everyday. As such, we are keenly aware of current environmental changes and we have a have a strong commitment to managing our own green footprint.

How we’re reducing our footprint

The majority of our inputs involve human labour and materials like pure, natural stone or recycled stone and cement; however, Jim’s Paving has identified the opportunity to reduce its water usage when cutting paving stones. On a very large project, for example, a bricksaw could be working most of the day using hundreds of litres of water which would be wasted. We are proud to say that most of our Franchise Owners now use a water saving machine called a Brickosaurus which recycles the water being used for the bricksaw and will only use a maximum of 70 litres in a day’s use. The water left in the recycle tank can then be spread over the client’s garden.

As part of our commitment to the Australian environment, Jim’s Paving is also a proud supporter of Bush Heritage Australia that buys and acquires land of high conservation value to protect Australia's unique biodiversity.

Originally founded by Bob Brown in 1990, this independent foundation was established to protect of pocket of Tasmanian forest from logging using a $50,000 government grant.

To date, Bush Heritage Australia own and manage 31 reserves throughout Australia covering over 946,276 hectares. Together, these reserves safeguard more than 242 vegetation communities, including at least 83 that are listed as of high conservation value. Over 2700 plant species, including at least 310 of conservation significance, and at least 700 bird and animal species, including 197 that are known to be threatened, are now protected on the reserves.
